国連の世界保健機関憲章前文で健康とは「単に病気あるいは衰弱のない状態ではなく、身体的、精神的、社会的なウェルビーイングの整った状態である」と定義*されています。クリルモッド・トーキョーでは、身体的、精神的、社会的なウェルビーイングに深く関連しながらも、国内では未だ学ぶ機会の少ないセクソロジーやヒューマンセクシュアリティ、関連する心理療法アプローチについて正確で新しい情報を精神保健、医療、公衆衛生、教育や保育などの分野の専門家の方々へ提供します。性の健康とは病気あるいは衰弱のない状態にとどまらず、自分の心身を理解し、違和感なく、大切に守ることができる力を意味します。性の健康を高め自分自身と他者に対する尊重、共感、思いやりを深めるための支援を通して、エンパワメントを促進し多様性を尊ぶ文化への貢献を目指しています。

「クリルモッド/Clilmod」とは、clitoris（陰核・クリトリス）とlilmod（ヘブライ語で「知る」「学ぶ」）を組み合わせた造語です。クリトリスという女性生殖器の主な機能は快感を促すことですが、同時に軽視され続け、文化によっては抑圧（女性器切除/FGM）に利用されてきた歴史があります。「クリトリスを知る・学ぶ」ということは、女性をはじめ社会における多様な少数派、基本的人権の侵害・不均衡を経験するすべての人々について考える意義と機会を象徴しています。

About us

The World Health Organization defines health as “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” Sound sexual health implies not only the absence of disease or infirmity, but the capacity to understand, be comfortable with and protect one’s own body. We believe that by promoting good sexual health, we promote empowerment for all and to respect, be empathetic and compassionate to ourselves and others. Clilmod Tokyo coordinates courses and workshops in sexology, human sexuality and related fields for practitioners in mental health, medical and  public health care as well as education.

“Clilmod” is a made up word combining the two words clitoris and a Hebrew word lilmod(ללמוד) which means “to learn”. The clitoris is a female sex organ, the main and only function of which is to provide pleasure, that has been largely dismissed and used to oppress women around the world. Learning of clitoris symbolises the taking back the power, not only for women but anyone whose fundamental human rights has been depreciated and not guaranteed.
